World experts in Cystic Fibrosis treatment and patient associations recently met in Dublin for the 35thEuropean Cystic Fibrosis Conference. As a precursor to the European Conference, Cystic Fibrosis Worldwide (CFW) provided a half day video training on Developing Winning Grant Proposals presented by the Grantsmanship Centre. Videoconferencing facilities for this event were supplied on a pro bono basis by Vu2Vu Networks Ltd, a global customer service provider for Vidyo, Inc. Vu2Vu Networks is based in Dublin, Ireland with overseas operations in the UK, USA and South Africa.
According to Christine Noke, CEO , “CFW has over sixty member countries including several located in the developing world. We work to help patient associations by providing assistance in capacity building and clinical development programmes. This was a first for us. We were able to provide remote video training by a world class trainer to a selected audience in HD video. The feedback from our members was very positive and we now intend to run this type of training on a regular basis.”
Commenting on the Vu2Vu service Christine stated “It was incredible to believe that our trainer was able to sit at a desk in a log cabin in Vermont and give a quality presentation with active participation from all attendees. It was as if she was sitting around the same table with us.”
